Jean Gardner

Jean M. Gardner, 58, of Butler died Wednesday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following a short illness.

Born Nov. 4, 1954, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Elton Spahn and Anna (McGuire) Spahn.

She graduated from Triangle Tech with a degree in upholstery, was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler and had enjoyed cooking and ceramics.

Surviving are three brothers, Danny C. Spahn of Fenelton, Larry H. (Caral) Spahn of Butler and Herman Spahn of Slippery Rock; four sisters, Carol (Donald) Graham of Guys Mills, Pa., Joyce (Paul) Kelly of Chicora, Janet (Ronald) Parker of Butler and Gerry (Chester) Alwine of Butler; her former husband, Richard L. Gardner of Butler; one son, Jeffrey C. (Sandy) Tebay of Butler; one stepson and one stepdaughter; one grandson and three step-grandchildren; her godchild, Ashley Parker of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, June Spahn.

GARDNER — Friends of Jean M. Gardner, who died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Monday at the church to recite the rosary.
