Dennis Leo Collins
Dennis Leo Collins, 63, of Butler died Thursday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born June 26, 1950, in Butler to the late Leo and Emogene Hinterlang Collins.
He was retired from AK Steel, following 32 years of service. He coached East Butler baseball and the Butler girls softball teams.
He was a member of the R.C. Men's Club for 42 years. His leisure activities included spending time with his two granddaughters, and he enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch with his wife.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Holom Collins, who he married Aug. 4, 1973; one son, Todd (Michelle Perry) Collins; one daughter, Lisa Marie Collins; two granddaughters, Elizah and Avarie Collins; his mother-in-law, Marie (DiTullio) Holom; five sisters, Linda (Jay) Weitzel, Diane (Bill) Niebrzydowski, Kathy (Mike) Spack, Luann Collins and Cindy (Collins) Ferena; and two brothers, Larry (Louann Jenkins) Collins and Leroy (Barb Zellefrow) Collins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Karen Lee Collins.
COLLINS — Friends of Dennis Leo Collins, who died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. from St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
