Lillian Grinnik

Lillian E. Grinnik, 84, of Lyndora died Wednesday at Passavant Retirement Home. She was a resident of Lyndora for 78 years.

She was born Lillian Elizabeth Czap on Feb. 23, 1929, to the late Stephen and Ava Czap.

She was married to Andy Grinnik, and they were married 64 years.

She was a member of the St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Lyndora. She was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, cards and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Andy; one daughter, Mrs. Debbie (Mike) Gaio of Phoenix Ariz.; one son, Wayne (Linda) Grinnik of Economy, Pa.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Kim (Shawn) Shillingburg and Mrs. Heather (Duke) Williams; one grandson, Brian Grinnik; great-grandchildren, Alissa, Nicholas, Christopher and Logan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her three sisters, Helen Tarcha, Mary Wettick and Ann Czap.

Grinnik — Friends of Lillian E. Grinnik, who died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at North Cemetery in Butler.In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th floor, New York, NY 10001.The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff and nurses of Passavant Retirement Home and Gentiva Hospice.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
