Mary Lou Hans, 84, of Harrisville, formerly of the Saxonburg area, passed away Monday at Transitions Healthcare Autumn Grove in Harrisville.

Born on March 5, 1929, in Hawthorne, Pa., she was the daughter of Wilmer Lee Shick and Mary Kathryn Thomas.

She worked as a press operator for Saxonburg Ceramics. Mary Lou had a keen sense of humor, and loved dancing and socializing with family and friends and especially loved her grandchildren.

Surviving are her son, Randy (Cheryl) Hans of Worthington; one daughter, Cindy (David) Wolfe of Harrisville; two brothers, Darl Shick of West Middlesex and Richard (Betty) Shick of Smicksburg, Pa.; one sister, Joanne McGregor of West Palm Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, Amber Cranmer, Brandy Hageter, Brian Hans, Kelli Cuffman, Kristy Fedorchak and Andrea Fisher, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Brenda.

HANS — There will be no visitation or services for Mary Lou Hans, who died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013. A private interment was in the Oakland Community Cemetery in Distant, Pa.
