Martha Lou Dengler, 86, of Hamden, Conn., formerly of Butler, passed away July 29 in Connecticut.

She was born April 16, 1927, in Butler, the daughter of the late Joseph Charles and Gertrude (Vance) Dengler.

She was a graduate of Butler High School Class of 1945, and a graduate of both Allegheny College and Yale Divinity School. Martha had worked for the Butler YWCA for several years. She was also a former member of the Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her twin sister, Laura Jane Dengler Swink.

She is survived by many close friends who will miss her greatly.
