James H. McCrea Sr.

James H. McCrea Sr., 76, of Fenelton passed away Sunday at home.

He was born on Aug. 24, 1936, in Fenelton to the late Hugh and Ellen (Hindman) McCrea.

He was a farmer. He was also a Clearfield Township supervisor for 15 years.

He attended St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville.

He enjoyed spending time at his camp in Benezzette, Pa., watching the elk.

He is survived by his wife, Velma M. Denny McCrea, who he married on Sept. 15, 1958; a son, George (Wendy) McCrea of Fenelton; a daughter, Linda (Doug) McCollough of Fenelton; grandchildren Jason, Morgan, Kevin, Ryan, David, Hugh, Colleen and Seth, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James McCrea Jr.; his brothers, Bernard and Joseph McCrea; and sisters, Jane McCrea and Mary Peters.

MCCREA — Friends of James H. McCrea Sr., who passed away Sunday, July, 28, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville.
