Florence Marie 'Flo' Conroy

Florence Marie “Flo” Conroy, 81, of Butler, formerly of Bethel Park, passed away at 8:05 a.m. Sunday in the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

She was born June 23, 1932, in Pittsburgh to the late John S. Ginther and Alma B. (Luebbert) Ginther.

Mrs. Conroy was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary for Champion Stores and Alling & Cory.

She was a member of the St. Fidelis Catholic Church. She was a member of the St. Valentine's Women's Guild and the Neighborhood Quilting Circle. Mrs. Conroy enjoyed volunteer work and crafting.

Mrs. Conroy is survived by one son, C. Thomas Conroy of Export, Pa.; two daughters, Theresa M. Pronic of Butler and Patricia A. Thompson of Butler; five grandchildren, Sean T. Conroy, Samantha A. Conroy, Lt. Megan C. Conroy, Amanda L. Radcliff and Sara L. Thompson; one great-grandchild, Sitara R. Conroy; three sisters, Estelle R. Shipley of Norwich, Ohio, Mary E. Emodi of Omaha, Neb., and Janice M. Ruehling of Pittsburgh; three brothers, John A. Ginther of Mogadore, Ohio, Richard A. Ginther of Houston, Pa., and J. Michael Ginther of Pittsburgh, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George John Conroy, who she married on Nov. 29, 1958, and who passed away on March 8, 2012, and three sisters, Alma R. Denke, Dolores M. Zelesky and Eleanor A. Ginther.

Conroy — Friends of Florence Marie “Flo” Conroy, who passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013, will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler, with the Rev. James Murphy officiating.
