Catherine L. 'Kay' Follstaedt
Catherine L. “Kay” Follstaedt, 74, of Butler passed away at 8:40 p.m. Saturday in the Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights.
She was born April 26, 1939, in Butler to the late Chester W. Allen and Kate (Kriebel) Allen.
Kay attended the St. Luke Lutheran Church. She was a salesperson at Troutman's Department Store for seven years. Kay was an avid flower gardener and bowler and continued to do these until her health prevented her.
Kay is survived by her husband, John (Ken) Follstaedt, who she married on Sept. 19, 1964; three sons, Curtis L. Follstaedt, Shawn A. Follstaedt and his wife, Kelly, and Timothy J. Follstaedt, all of Butler; two grandsons, Rowan Follstaedt, who was very close to his grandmother, and Yannie Valaziotis; one brother, Wallace R. Allen of Butler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester W. “Bill” Allen II and Robert “Bob” Allen.
Follstaedt — Friends of Catherine L. “Kay” Follstaedt, who passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Barry Keurelainen of the St. Luke Lutheran Church officiating.
