Richard W. 'Dick' Rupp
Richard W. “Dick” Rupp, 106, of Zelienople, formerly of Mars and Swissvale, died Wednesday evening at his home in New Haven Court.
He was born on March 28, 1907, in Pittsburgh.
He was an engineer for U.S. Steel Irvine Works in South Hills and later for Swindell-Dressler in Pittsburgh.
He was a member of the Mars United Methodist Church, now Dutilh, and was in Masonic Orders for more than 50 years, most recently at John E. Mair Lodge 729 F&AM.
Surviving are his son, Richard W. Rupp and his wife, Judy, of Patalaska, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Rupp-Fisher and her husband, Robert, of Mars; his grandchildren, Jason W. Rupp (Christy), Tracey Havens (Rex), Sarah Blanchard (Todd) and Jodie L. Rupp; and his great-grandchildren, Bradley, Anabelle, Lily and Christian.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Wallis Rupp, who he married on July 31, 1936, and who died on April 8, 1996; a son, Gary Rupp; and his sister, Helen R. Hall.
RUPP — Friends of Richard W. “Dick” Rupp, who died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. James Gascoine officiating.
