Jean Montgomery Barger, 83, of Venango Township, Parker, passed away Friday morning at her home following a period of failing health.

Born in Alum Rock, Clarion County, on April 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Trenna and Esther Ferringer Montgomery.

Jean was a graduate of the former Parker High School, and was employed by Westinghouse Records Corp. in Boyers for over 25 years, retiring in 1990.

She was a longtime member of the Eau Claire Presbyterian Church where she served as secretary of the session for over 25 years.

Jean was a former member of the OES Chapter 60 of Parker. She was involved with TOPS of Clintonville for many years, and she was an avid bingo, poker and card player.

She is survived by her husband, W. Clifford “Cliff” Barger; her daughter and her husband, Sandi (Daryl) Brown of Hilliards; her son, Ron Boyd and his wife, Patty Boyd, of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Dustin Brown of Hilliards, Jason Boyd of Wheeling W.Va., and Tricia (Kevin) Goode of Moundsville, W.Va.; three great-grandchildren, Khloe Boyd, and Justin and Tyler Goode; her twin sister, Jane Horneman of Waterford; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by two stepsons, Clint and Loren Barger; two sisters, Mary Montgomery and Anna Kelly; and three brothers, Orville, Don and Larry Montgomery.

BARGER — Friends of Jean Montgomery Barger, who died Friday, July 26, 2013, may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Cline of the Eau Claire Presbyterian Church officiating.
