Ralph Hugh Miller

Ralph Hugh Miller, 66, of Slippery Rock, Brady Township passed away at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa.

He was born Feb. 2, 1947, in Grove City, Mercer County, to Ralph Clinton Miller and Helen Jane Proudfoot.

He married Iris Margaret Shroyer of Nov. 7, 1971.

He worked for APT Technologies in Zelienople, where he worked as an industrial paint maker until his retirement in 2011.

He graduated from Grove City High School and then served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the North Liberty Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed traveling with his grandchildren, collecting postcards and his volunteer work at the Slippery Rock Park Food Bank.

He is survived by his wife, Iris M. Miller of Slippery Rock; two daughters, Laura J. Walker and her husband, Scott, of Slippery Rock and Jenifier L. Burkhead of Slippery Rock; one brother, Donald L. Miller and wife, Ellen, of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Mickaela, Jessica, Dillon, Layne and Caden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Margaret Williams, and a brother, Wayne Howard.

MILLER — A visitation for Ralph Hugh Miller, who passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013, will be from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. There will be a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Slippery Rock Park Food Bank.
