John E. Beegle

John E. Beegle, 68, of East Butler, formerly of Bruin, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

John was born at home in Everett, Pa., on May 21, 1945. He was the son of Charles and Phyllis Weicht Beegle.

He attended Everett High School and had been employed by the Witco Chemical Co. in Petrolia, and then worked for Superior Carriers. John started Superior Carriers' Parker Terminal and had been terminal manager. He later worked for William Altman Trucking as a dispatcher.

John enjoyed old Chevy trucks, black Labs, old time country music and fishing at Moraine State Park.

John is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Stewart Beegle, who he met while serving in the U.S. Coast Guard at Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. The couple married in Braintree, Mass., on May 14, 1966.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles F. Beegle of Irwin; a daughter, Darlene A. Roy and her husband, Jason, of East Butler; three grandchildren, C.J. Beegle of Irwin, Holly D. Roy and Carter A. Roy, both of East Butler; two sisters, Judith Clark and her husband, Clinton, of Bedford and Cherie Dicken of Everett, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charlene Beegle.

BEEGLE — Friends of John E. Beegle, who passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013, will be received at the Hile Funeral Home, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be private.
