CLINTON TWP — A new company is headed to the Victory Road Business Park.

The Community Development Corporation of Butler County recently announced that M.B.K. Inc. bought 7.4 acres that will be home to the Kerry Co., which manufactures an actuator used in the steel, mining and nuclear power industries.

Ken Raybuck, the executive director of the CDC, said the company’s products also are used as water level control devices in dams.

The company is relocating to Butler County from Hampton Township, Allegheny County, because it wants to expand.

Raybuck said more than half of the company’s 17 employees already live in Butler County.

He added the company hopes to add five to seven employees over the next couple of years.

The ability of the Victory Road park to meet the electrical needs required to test the company’s 100 horsepower motors was a big factor in its relocation, Raybuck said.

The Keystone Opportunity Zone designation of the park is another benefit for the company. Under the state tax program, Kerry will not pay real estate taxes until 2022 under an agreement with Clinton Township, the South Butler School District and the county.

“Without the cooperation of the taxing bodies, the operation and its 17 employees would not be coming to Butler County,” Raybuck said.

After the sale, the CDC is left with just 40 acres of the 425 developable acres in the park.
