Jose Alejandro 'Alaho' Rivera
Jose Alejandro “Alaho” Rivera, 72, of Butler passed away at 5:17 p.m. Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 17, 1941, in Camuy, Puerto Rico, to the late Sinesio Rivera Oslan and Laura Rodriguez Santiago.
Mr. Rivera worked as a landscaper and in a greenhouse. He enjoyed bingo, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Rivera is survived by his wife, Hazel Rivera, who he married on March 31, 1989; five sons, Jose Rivera Jr. of Portland, Ore., Miguel Rivera of Butler, Eric Rivera of Florida, Alex Grove of Indianapolis, Ind., and Sergio Rivera; three daughters, Gloria Hess of Butler and Cynthia Rivera and Sarah Williams, both of Florida; and 15 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Rivera.
Rivera — A memorial service for Jose Alejandro “Alaho” Rivera, who passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Power Of God Pentecostal Church, on the corner of Church and Birch, between Jefferson and Cunningham streets in downtown Butler.
