Mrs. Leola Schnur Sarver, 99, passed away Sunday morning at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars.

She would have celebrated her 100th birthday in two weeks and would have been the oldest living member of six generations for the Schnur Family reunion on Aug. 31, 2013. She formerly lived on South Trail, Penn Township, and Schnur Road in Herman.

Born Aug. 1, 1913, in Butler to William and Anna Spahn Schnur, Leola was the oldest of 12 siblings: Willis of Herman, Kenneth of Chicora, Ethel Miller of Butler and the late Jerome, Clair, Ronald, Gerald, Vernon, Betty Green, Rita Schiebel and Mary Schnur.

Mrs. Sarver married the late Leroy A. Sarver on Aug. 9, 1934, and they had six children, the late Mrs. John (Sally) Molnar, Ronald of Glenshaw, Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Murray of Bradford Woods, Robert of Seminole, Fla., Richard and Randall of Butler.

She has 12 grandchildren, John Molnar and Cindi DiMatteo, Dan Sarver and Tina Zimmerman, Traci Robinson, Todd Murray, Brian Murray and Troy Murray, Tammy Ridge and Channing Kline, Russell Sarver and Kim McCosby; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Leola graduated from St. Mary's in Herman and Butler Business College. She worked for the state of Pennsylvania for 22 years, is an original member of the Tanglewood Center and the Butler County ARC, a longtime member of St. Mary's and Holy Sepulcher churches, was a vice regent of The Catholic Daughters of America and was honored with the Pennsylvania ARC Family of the Year at the State Convention.

SARVER — Friends of Mrs. Leola Schnur Sarver, who passed away Sunday morning, July 14, 2013, will be received at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Herman.In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to ARC of Butler County, 112 Hollywood Drive, 202, Butler, PA 16001.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
