Ehms is entering his junior year at Eden Christian Academy and will lead that school in its inaugural WPIAL golf season.
He finished third in points on the Kings PGA Tri-State Junior Tour this year, picking up one win.

WASHINGTON — The government on Monday reported a $97.6 billion deficit for July but remains on track to post its lowest annual budget gap in five years.July's figure raises the deficit so far for the 2013 budget year to $607.4 billion, the government says. That's 37.6 percent below the $973.8 billion deficit for the first 10 months of the 2012 budget year.The Congressional Budget Office has forecast that the annual deficit will be $670 billion when the budget year ends Sept. 30, far below last year's $1.09 trillion. It would mark the first year that the gap between spending and revenue has been below $1 trillion since 2008.
WALTHAM, Mass. — A new bid to buy a legendary piano maker could be music to the ears of its shareholders.Steinway Musical Instruments Inc. said Monday that an investment firm has offered to pay $38 per share, or about $477 million, for the company. That tops an earlier bid of $438 million, from Kohlberg & Co.The Waltham, Mass.-based company identified the new potential buyer only as an investment firm with more than $15 billion under management.
TORONTO — BlackBerry will consider selling itself after the long-awaited debut of its new phones failed to turn around the struggling smartphone maker.The company said Monday that its board has formed a special committee to explore “strategic alternatives” in hopes of enhancing the company's value and boosting adoption of its BlackBerry 10 platform.The company said its options could also include joint ventures, partnerships, or other moves.
ATLANTA — A man died after falling more than 60 feet from an upper-level platform at Atlanta's Turner Field onto a parking lot during a game between the Braves and Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night.Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee confirmed the death of the man, whose name was not immediately released.“At this time there's no indication of foul play and the fall appears accidental,” Chafee said late Monday. “It appears he fell from an upper-level platform to a secured lot below.”
RICHMOND, Va. — The opposing wills of a headstrong coach and an equally headstrong franchise player faced off again, with Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan rebuffing Robert Griffin III's latest lobbying effort to play in the preseason.Shanahan also said he has no private deal with Griffin about playing in Week 1 of the regular season, as implied by the quarterback. As far as Griffin's statements about neither liking nor fully understanding Shanahan's practice plan for the QB, the coach reiterated that it's not his job to do everything to Griffin's liking.
