Charles Chris 'Chuck' Stevens
Charles Chris “Chuck” Stevens, 65, of Cranberry Township passed away Tuesday while under the care of the Wexford House Nursing Center.
Born Aug. 22, 1947, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Charles and Janet (Kowalski) Stevens.
Chuck was a member of the first graduating class at Seneca Valley High School in 1965, where he played football and basketball. Upon graduation, he went on to attend Southwest Oklahoma State University. His brother John, joined him in college the following year where they both excelled in football, Chuck becoming an All-American defensive tackle.
After college, he went to camp with the Cleveland Browns. Leaving the Browns, Chuck went on to play semi-pro football for the Jersey City Jays and the Cleveland Hard-Hats. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Chuck also was a member of the Seneca Valley Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his sister, Johanna Stevens of Cranberry Township.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Andrew Stevens.
