Helen D. Mahoney
Helen D. Mahoney, 87, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 26, 1925, in Butler, the daughter of the late Harold J. and Mabel (Shook) Grossman.
Helen loved to crochet, and she enjoyed making afghans for special occasions to give to her family. She was a great cook. Most of all, Helen loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Ralph J. Mahoney of Butler; four daughters, Joyce Davis of Howland, Ohio, Karen Fisher of Seattle, Wash., Susan (Raymond) Smochek of Slippery Rock and Amy (Frank) Bruno of Slippery Rock; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca Fisher; and three brothers, Ellsworth, James and Donald Grossman.
Mahoney — Friends of Helen D. Mahoney, who passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
