Clarence R. McDougal

Clarence R. McDougal, 89, of Slippery Rock passed away at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Grove City Medical Center following a short illness.

He was born Sept. 17, 1923, in West Sunbury. He was the son of the late John McDougal and the late Buna Christy McDougal.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in the European theater.

He was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Presbyterian Church. He retired from the Penn Allegh Coal Co.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. David (Bonnie) Vinton of Grove City and Mrs. Otis (Betty) Swartz of Hermitage, and one son Donald McDougal and his wife, Judith, of Boyers. Seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Boyd McDougal, who died March 11, 2004, and two brothers.

McDougal — Friends of Clarence R. McDougal, who passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Charles Cline, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
