Sophia (Wesoloski) Olean

Mrs. Sophia (Wesoloski) Olean, 94, formerly of Allegheny Township, passed away Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia, Cabot, following a lengthy illness.

Born on May 14, 1919, in Titusville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Anastasia (Glogowski) Wesoloski.

Sophia had lived most of her life in Allegheny Township and before that Frazer Township. She was a homemaker and a life member of St. Peter and St. Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Tarentum. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, gardening, camping, crocheting and fishing.

Survivors include her children, John R. (Elaine) Olean of Butler, Joseph W. (Freda) Olean of Winfield Township, Paul P. (Patricia) Olean of South Buffalo Township and Lorraine (Ronald) Atkins of Placerville, Calif. Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren and her 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Olean Jr. in 1995; five brothers, Andrew, Theodore, John, Walter and Joseph Wesoloski; and four sisters, Frances Zelko, Victoria Chanowicz, Violet Zelko and Helen Machalski.

OLEAN — Visitation for Mrs. Sophia (Wesoloski) Olean, who passed away, Tuesday, June 25, 2013, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at theDuster Funeral Home, 10th Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, where a Panachida will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Peter and St. Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Tarentum, with the Rev.
