Charles Bernard 'Chuck' Sekerak Sr.
Charles Bernard “Chuck” Sekerak Sr., 79, of Valencia passed away on Saturday while under the care of UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born Dec. 13, 1933, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie Alexander.
Chuck proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.
For 18 and a half years, he worked as a carpenter for Montgomery & Rust, Inc., and he worked at the Kutchko's Country Garden Center for 12 years. An avid Steelers fan, he also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 45 years, Roberta “Toots” Sekerak of Valencia; his son, Mike Sekerak of Beaver; his four daughters, Debbie Thaxton and her husband, Ken, of West Virginia, Robin Hake of Fombell, Buffy Johns and her husband, Jim, of Valencia and Cindy Laslavic and her husband, Jim, of Harmony; his three grandchildren, Christy Robinson of Mississippi, Paul Johns of Valencia and Joey Laslavic of Harmony; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Sidney Robinson and Charles “Turk” Sekerak Jr.; one brother, and two sisters.
Sekerak — The family of Charles Bernard “Chuck” Sekerak Sr., who passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at theGlenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A blessing service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Father George Dalton as celebrant.Following the service at the funeral home, Chuck will be laid to rest with military honors at the Dutilh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cranberry Township.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chuck's honor for the benefit of his family, c/o Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 219 E.
