Ralph D. Skelley
Ralph D. Skelley, 76, of Butler passed away at 9:20 a.m. Saturday at Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born Feb. 3, 1937, in Haysville, the son of the late Howard and Agnes (Fulton) Skelley.
Ralph retired from Pullman Standard, later Trinity.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Ralph loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing games, joking with and spoiling them. He was well known for having a large picture perfect garden which he could share his harvest with everyone. He liked fishing and the occasional trip to the casino. His favorite pastime was feeding the birds. He was a skillful handyman and mechanic, always ready to help out wherever and whenever needed.
Ralph was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene L. (Holt) Skelley who he married June 24, 1960; three daughters, Vicky McCall of Butler, Sheri (Curt) Field of Butler and Crystal (Jeffrey) Haugh of Butler; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen (Fred) Wiles of Butler and Carol Mae (Donald) Querry of Butler; and two brothers, Howard “Bub” (Mary) Skelley and William K. (Jane) Skelley both of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice, and two brothers, Jack and Jim.
