MHS grad performs in musical premiere
AKRON, Ohio — Michelle Flynn, a 2011 graduate of Mars High School, will be part of the cast of the world premiere of the nostalgic new musical, “Tuning In,” opening in August at the University of Akron’s E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall.
“Tuning In” is about the tussles and triumphs of a nostalgia radio station in an Ohio retirement community.
The show features a 14-piece orchestra and a cast of Equity, community and student actors, singers and dancers.
Flynn is a musical theater studies major at Kent State University. She is the daughter of Phyllis and Daniel Flynn of Adams Township.
The premiere performances of “Tuning In” are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 8, at 8 p.m. Aug. 9 and at 2:30 and 8 p.m. Aug. 10.
Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for senior citizens, and $10 for students. All tickets will be $20 at the door. Call 330-972-7570.
