Fred Moses

Frederick A. Moses, 91, of Butler died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 26, 1921, in Butler, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Haddad Moses.

He was married to the late Alice Unger Moses, who passed away April 14, 1991.

He was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian. He was a member of the Tanglewood Center for more than 30 years. Also, he was member of the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora, and the VFW of Butler.

He worked in the Transportation Department at Armco for 35 years.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and was stationed in the South Pacific.

Surviving are his brother, Merril A. (Jane) Moses of Butler, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

MOSES — Friends of Frederick A. Moses, who died Friday, June 14, 2013, will be received at theGeibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Butler.The bereavement committee of the St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home for a parish prayer service.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
