Patricia Amelia (McGaughey) Halverson

Patricia Amelia (McGaughey) Halverson, 67, of Cranberry Township passed away Saturday while under the care of St. Barnabas Health System in Richland Township.

Born June 23, 1945, in Sewickley, she was the daughter of the late Watson “Duke” and Patricia (Fahey) McGaughey Sr.

Patty was a 1963 graduate of Quaker Valley High School and a graduate of Sullins College in Bristol, Va. She was a devoted member of the Christ Church at Grove Farm.

For over 30 years, she was a flight attendant for Mohawk, Allegheny and US Airways.

She was an avid and loyal Steelers fan. Patty truly enjoyed dancing, gardening, reading and fashion. Patty also adored her standard poodles, Nikki and Blue. Above all, she was an unconditionally loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her three loving children, Robert Halverson and his wife, Lynne, Emily Benedict Gascoyne and her husband, Peter, and Trygve Halverson and his wife, Kristin; her two brothers, Watson “Duke” McGaughey Jr. and his wife, Karen, and Scott W. McGaughey and his wife, Susan; her mother-in-law, Emily Benedict Grey; her five grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua and Lee Benedict and Jake and Jesse Halverson; her two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Avery; and her eight nieces and nephews, Devan, Connor, Kierra and Amelia McGaughey, Kent McGaughey and his wife, Sylvia, Margaret and Kelsey McGaughey and Katherine Klukowski and her husband, Kevin.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 39 years, Lee Benedict Halverson, who passed away on Feb. 24, 2013.

Halverson — Services and interment for Patricia Amelia (McGaughey) Halverson, who passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, will be held privately by her family.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the Free Care Fund, c/o Gardens Veterinary Hospital, 9087 Marshall Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066 or to the Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Road, Sewickley, PA 15143.
