West Virginia drops Sliders
SLIPPERY ROCK — A throwing error allowed two unearned runs to score in the top of the 14th inning as the Slippery Rock Sliders fell to West Virginia 4-2 at Jack Critchfield Park Friday night.
It was the 10th straight win for the Miners (22-12).
Aaron Lindgren had a pair of hits for Slippery Rock (15-19), including a triple, and Tom Crimi added a double.
It was announced Friday that the Sliders had four players named to the Prospect League East Division All-Star team.
Pitchers Kevin Becker-Menditto and Zach Strecker, first baseman Matt Calhoun and outfielder Storm Wilson will represent the Sliders in the All-Star Game, which will be held July 17 at Pullman Park.
