PITTSBURGH — Two teachers and a dozen students were stung by a swarm of bees or wasps during recess at a summer camp program run by the Pittsburgh Public Schools.

The students and teachers were stung Tuesday outside the Carmalt Academy of Science and Technology.

Some children were stung more than once, school district spokeswoman Ebony Pugh said, but city paramedics said none of the stings prompted allergic reactions or were serious enough to require hospitalization.

According to Steve Repasky, a master beekeeper, the culprits were likely yellow jacket wasps.
