Rt. 228 East to get makeover next week
MIDDLESEX TWP — Work will begin next week on Route 228 East, also known as Glade Mill Road, in Middlesex and Clinton townships, according to state Department of Transportation officials.
Work on the 4-mile stretch will include drainage, patching, shoulder widening, and paving, beginning just east of Route 8 to Saxonburg Boulevard.
Daylight lane restrictions and alternating traffic will occur on Route 228 daily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Paving operations will be done after 9 a.m. Congestion and delays are possible.
This $2 million road preservation project will be done by Lindy Paving of New Galilee. It is expected to be done in October.
