John Oliver

John Oliver, 86, of Cabot, formerly of West Leechburg, passed away Monday at the Saxony Health Center.

Born March 25, 1927, in West Leechburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph and Ann (Enrico) Oliver.

John was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He retired from PPG in Creighton, Pa.

He was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of the West Leechburg Volunteer Fire Department. John enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his loving wife, Nota T. (Maccagno) Oliver, who he married Sept. 10, 1949; his son, John (Bonnie) Oliver of Frisco, Texas; his daughters, Cindy (Ken) Ankney of Blairsville, Pa., and Sandy (Larry) Laidlaw of Cabot; his grandchildren, Scott Oliver of Mansfield, Texas, Heather Oliver of The Colony, Texas, Tim (Traci) Andrasy of Woodstock, Ga., and John Paul (Dawn) Andrasy of Leechburg, Pa.; and his great-grandchildren, Timmy and Savannah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Oliver, and his sister, Matilda (Oliver) Bilan.

OLIVER — Friends of John Oliver, who died Monday, May 20, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. A memorial service will be conducted by the West Leechburg Volunteer Fire Department at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cabot United Methodist Church with the Rev. Matthew Judd officiating.
