EVANS CITY — Westminster Church Preschool, 330 Main St., is accepting applications for the 2013-14 school year. The preschool offers classes for children ages 3 to 4 and classes for children ages 4 to 5.

Lifesteps offers child screeningsFree developmental screenings for children from birth to age 5 will be offered by Lifesteps from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Clearview Mall, 101 Clearview Circle.The screening looks at the child’s development in playing, talking, hearing, moving and thinking. It takes about 30 minutes and parents will learn the results immediately.Appointments are recommended. Geocaching focus of park programThe next presentation in the Outdoor Discovery Series at Alameda Park will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.Participants will find out how global positioning system units can be used to record outdoor adventures and how they can be used to create adventures through the popular sport of geocaching.The program is at the Carousel Shelter, and admission is free.
