Doris Humes

Doris C. Humes, 84, of Cranberry Township passed away Sunday while under the care of the UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born Aug. 28, 1928, in Ford City, she was the daughter of the late Harry O. and Esther (Martin) Humes.

Doris was a loyal member of the Beulah Presbyterian Church in Churchill, Pa.

She graduated from West Virginia University in 1951, earning a bachelor of science in dietary education. For 38 years, Doris worked as the assistant dietary director at the Children's Hospital in Oakland.

She was a loving friend who will be missed by those who had the joy of knowing her.

She is survived by her dear friends, John Thompson and his sons, John Thompson Jr. and Alex Thompson of Ford City, and her cousin, Alice K. McDowell of Ohio.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Humes.

HUMES — Funeral services for Doris C. Humes, who passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013, are private.
