Geraldine G. 'Gerry' Miller

Geraldine G. “Gerry” Miller, 86, of Butler passed away at 11:15 p.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 20, 1927, in Tonawanda, N.Y., to the late Walter I. Smith and Blanche (Schuckers) Smith.

Mrs. Miller was a 1945 graduate of Har Brack Union High School in Natrona Heights and a 1979 graduate of the School of Nursing at Butler County Community College.

She worked as a registered nurse at Butler Memorial Hospital and then at the Columbia Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla. for 16 years, retiring in December of 1996.

Mrs. Miller was a member of North Street Christian Church. She enjoyed reading and playing cards with her friends at the Arbors. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Mrs. Miller is survived by two daughters, Merry (Larry) Wagner of Butler and Wendy Fleeger of Alaska; five grandchildren, Bill Arrundale of Columbus, Ohio, Veronica Arrundale of Akron, Ohio, Angela Weller-Ouellette of Ashville, N.C., Jeremy Wagner of Butler and Danielle (Trent) Eury of Butler; six great-grandchildren, Cassie Lynn Arrundale of Akron, Ohio, Gabrielle Weller of Ashville, N.C., Brooklyn Erin Eury of Butler, Brody Arrundale of Madison, Ohio, Jackson Arrundale of Akron, Ohio, and Grant Levi Eury of Butler; and one sister, Shirley Lovejoy of Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dana M. Miller, who passed away Dec. 17, 1984; one daughter, Lynette Arrundale, who passed away May 4, 2012; one granddaughter, Kimberly Arrundale, who passed away in February, 2010; and three brothers, Kenneth, Robert and Ellwood Smith.

MILLER — Friends of Geraldine G. “Gerry” Miller, who passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Robert C. Huber of North Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
