Arthur L. Hughes
In loving memory of Arthur L. Hughes 1908-1976
We were blessed to have our
loving father who was such a good Father, Son, Uncle and Friend.
I recently looked at some old pictures and realized how responsible and caring my Father was from a very young age after he lost his Father at the age of nine. He quit school in the 8th grade to go to work to provide for his mother and some of his seven sisters and their children. He never mentioned what he did for so many. He was such a humble and great man.
Many do not know how he helped so many for not just one year, but lovingly provided rent and support for over twenty years to his Mother and some of his Sisters and their Children. Many other members of Dad’s family were also blessed as he provided caring and loving support and was always there for them. He truly worked hard from a young age and was a loving, kind, responsible, happy giving man.
Therefore, my Father married later in life. After marrying, he and his wife, Kathryn Hughes lived at the farm where Dad’s Mother, some of his Sisters, Nieces and some other members lived for about 5 years. At that time, my Father bought a small home for his Mother and a few members of the Family before starting his own home with his wife and son.
There were so many loving memories of my Father by so many. We are so proud of my Father.
