The Old Stone House at the intersection of Routes 8, 173 and 528, in Brady Township, will host a Tavern Day from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be cooking demonstrations and food samples. Beginning at 10 a.m., there will be opportunities to tour the Old Stone House, a 19th-century stagecoach inn. The suggested donation is $3 per person or $5 per family.

Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village in Avella, Washington County, hosts its 15th annual Atlatl competition in which visitors can try their hand at using a spear-thrower used by prehistoric hunters, from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $12 for adults, $11 for senior citizens, $6 for students and children Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, 1 Schenley Park, hosts Farmers at Phipps from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays through the last week of October.
