Pearl “Ilene” McChesney, 78, of Butler died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday.

She was born May 18, 1934, in Branchton, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Earl Montrose and Violet Virginia (Deal) McCandless.

Ilene retired after working as a bookkeeper for the Calvary Presbyterian Church.

She was a member of Grace @ Calvary Church. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and belonged to the Connoquenessing Valley Riders Association. She enjoyed reading, knitting and spending time with her family.

Surviving are four daughters, Ilona M. McChesney of Oklahoma, Mrs. John (Deborah L.) Holland of Renfrew, Mrs. Charles (Tamera N.) Adams of Springfield, Va., and Geraldine L. McChesney of Clinton, Ark.; and one son, Robert Boyd McChesney Jr. of Meridian. Nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Correne A. Frampton of Slippery Rock and Frances P. Stewart of Barkeyville; and one brother, Donald J. McCandless of Stoneboro, also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Boyd McChesney Sr., who died March 3, 2004, a sister and a brother.

MCCHESNEY — Friends of Pearl “Ilene” McChesney, who died Saturday, May 4, 2013, will be received from noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Young Funeral Home, Butler.
