Betty J. (McKinney) McHale

Betty J. (McKinney) McHale, 91, of Aurora, Ohio, formerly of Zelienople, passed away Saturday while under the care of the Anna Maria of Aurora.

She was born Sept. 25, 1921, in Zelienople and was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian (Cunningham) McKinney.

Betty was a former member of the Park United Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked at a small plant in Zelienople as one of the many “Rosey Riveters” during World War II, while her husband Ed was serving in the Navy. She also was a cashier at a grocery store in Zelienople and was a member of the New Brighton Boat Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda L. Kooser and her husband, Ronald, of Novelty, Ohio; her two grandchildren, Sheree Ricketts and her husband, Douglas, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Paul Kooser and his wife, Wendy, in Sorrento, Fla.; her four great-grandchildren, Morgan and Douglas “Corey” Ricketts and Jacqueline and Brandon Kooser.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edgar C. McHale who passed away on Aug. 20, 1998, and her infant son.

MCHALE — The family of Betty J. (McKinney) McHale, who passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, will welcome friends from 10 a.m. until the time of her funeral ceremony at noon Wednesday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. D. Lynn Snider, officiating.She will be laid to rest at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zelienople.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Betty's family at www.glennkildoofuneralhome.com.
