James Maley

James Michael Maley, 64, of Chicora passed away Tuesday morning at the VA hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born in Kittanning on Nov. 22, 1948, and was the son of the late Chalmer and Bernice (Jean) Maley.

After graduating Karns City High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was with the First of the Fifth Calvary Division, where he received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Jim was a lifetime member of the VFW.

He had various jobs before becoming a self-employed carpenter. He also worked for the Cements Masons Union, Local 526 until his retirement.

He is survived by two daughters, Noel (Jassen) Jack and Paula (Joel) Barnhart, four grandchildren, David Jack, Dalton Jack, Logan Barnhart and Luke Barnhart; his siblings, Dan Maley, David Maley, Patricia Pry and Judy Lohmueller, and several nephews and nieces.

MALEY — The family of James Michael Maley, who passed away Tuesday April 30, 2013, will have a private memorial.
