SHELOCTA — A coroner has confirmed the death of a man in an early morning fire in his rural home.
The Indiana County coroner's office says 59-year-old Terry Pease died after flames swept through his Armstrong Township residence.
Chief Deputy Coroner Jerry Overman said emergency officials were called at 4:44 a.m. Wednesday and the structure was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
HARRISBURG — Many residents in northeastern and central Pennsylvania will have to make calls by dialing 10 digits starting this fall.The state Public Utility Commission said Wednesday that customers within the 570 area code will have to dial the area code plus the seven-digit phone number beginning Sept. 21. The area code covers cities including Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Williamsport.
