Council on Thursday:

✓ Approved a payment of $603,330 to NexTier Bank for the 2013 Tax Revenue Anticipation Note. Of that amount, $600,00 is principal and $3,330 is interest.

✓ Approved taking a loan for $205,600 to be used for police cars, street lighting engineering costs and street paving.

✓ Appointed Sharon Snyder as an authorized person to make requests upon and receive any and all tax information from Berkheimer tax administration services relative to the collection of taxes.

✓ Approved payment of $5,945 to Ken Reilly Contracting for demolition of 518 Virginia Ave. pending final inspection and approval by the city code enforcement officer.

✓ Approved a block party on Peach Street, between Cecelia Street and Arthur Way, from noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

✓ Approved a block party on Fourth Avenue, between Fillmore and Pillow streets, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on June 29.

✓ Directed the city clerk to advertise for bids to repair the Sixth Street Bridge.

✓ Accepted a bid of $37,301 from AirVac 911 to replace the exhaust system in the Public Safety Building.

✓ Approved a cooperation agreement with Butler Downtown for management of the West New Castle Street Plaza.

✓ Approved the Minority and Women’s Business Enterprise Action Plan to comply with state and federal regulations pertaining to grant funding for various city initiatives administered through the city redevelopment authority.
