BRADY TWP — Jennings Environmental Education Center will host the first event to honor the prairie — Celebrate the Bloom! — from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 20.A full day of activities, including prairie walks, workshops and demonstrations plus food, vendors and entertainment will celebrate the only managed and protected prairie in Pennsylvania.
Greater Harmony Chorus of Region 17, one of the 28 divisions of Sweet Adelines International, garnered second place in the region's competition on May 18.Region 17 contains parts of Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Seventeen choruses were at the competition.The Greater Harmony Chorus will be singing at the Elwood City Fourth of July celebration at noon June 29.
ALLISON PARK — Pyrotecnico will present “Rock Loves II” at this year's PyroFest fireworks festival Saturday at Hartwood Acres.The fireworks show will tell the story of the evolution of rock-n-roll. “Rock Loves II” will be just one of the many displays at PyroFest.Cost is $22 for general admission and $13 for students and children.
