Evelyn Early

Evelyn A. Early, 81, of Washington Township, Butler County, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness.

She was born in Karns City on Aug. 7, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Arthur Francis and Dorothy Lucille Covert Jordan.

She was a United Methodist.

Evelyn assisted her daughter in her restaurant operation on the South Side in Butler for a period of time. She loved spending time with her entire family and working around her home.

Surviving are six daughters, Linda Allison of Hilliards, Evelyn Louise Forsythe of St. Petersburg, Pa., Hope (Lonnie) Forsythe of Hilliards, Sandra (Lonnie) Felix of Petrolia, Esther Jane (Lee) Walters and Teresa (Scott) Vogel, both of Hilliards; one son, Walter “Bud” Early Jr. at home; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Early of Boyers; one brother, Samuel Jordan of Baltimore, Md.; 19 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Early Sr., who she married Jan. 16, 1948, and who passed away Dec. 30, 2002. She was also preceded by a son, Jack LeRoy Early, who passed away in 2009, and a grandson, Cody McDaniels, in 1997.

EARLY — Friends of Evelyn A. Early, who passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday.
