Shirley Kriess Barr

Shirley J. Kriess Barr, 74, of Butler died Friday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born Oct. 3, 1938, in Connoquenessing Township and was the daughter of the late William H. and Gertrude Saylor Kriess.

Shirley was a member of the St. Johns Reformed Church, Meridian.

She retired from Plaza Maintenance.

She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and being with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Barr, who she married in 1960; two daughters, Sandie and her husband, Ronald, Lefever of Connoquenessing Township and Robin and her husband, Eric, Mock of Penn Township; three grandchildren, Ashley and Hunter Lefever and Jacob Mock; three sisters, Eleanor “Sis” Critchlow of Renfrew, Suzanne Weiland and Marlin Guest, both of Butler; six brothers, William Richard “Dick” (Shirley) Kriess of Indiana, Jack (Jane) Kriess of Renfrew, Gary “Butch” (Diane) Kriess of Connoquenessing, Henry “Cork” Kriess, Ronald “Pete” (Sally) Kriess and Larry Kriess, all of Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

BARR — A memorial service for Shirley J. Kriess Barr, who died Friday, April 12, 2013, will be announced later. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the A Carl Kinsey-Ronald n.
