LYNDORA — The band Apples & Airplanes of Raleigh, N.C., featuring Jade Werth of Butler, will return to Butler for the first time since opening for Rusted Root last February.
This time Apples & Airplanes will headline the local cancer benefit, Kernerfest, on Saturday at the Lyndora Hotel.
Kernerfest is a day of food and music in honor of Sarah Marie Kerner, who died last year after a battle with cancer.
This is the second annual Kernerfest and all proceeds will go to the Mario Lemieux Foundation in Sarah's name.
There will be live music, a pig roast, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and a Chinese auction.
Entertainment will be provided by Tom Pappas, Sean Allen Huegel and Stephanie Franzen, Cities Under Cities and Hellacious Crileys, among others. The evening will end with Apples & Airplanes performing.
Cost is $10 and includes the pig roast and all day music.
