Nancy Halfhill

Nancy Marie Halfhill, 79, of Slippery Rock, Worth Township, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Monday at Autumn Grove in Harrisville.

She was born in Wireton, Crescent Township, Beaver County, on Nov. 29, 1933, to William Miles Squires and Margaret Barclay Squires.

She married Richard Allen Halfhill on March 17, 1953.

She was a teacher’s aide, working in special education and had worked at a number of schools including Aliquippa, Center Township and Beaver Falls. She was a member of Pennsylvania State Education Association.

She was a Protestant. She had been a member of the North Branch Presbyterian Church in Center Township, Beaver County. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, travel and fellowship with friends at the camp.

Survivors include her husband, Richard A. Halfhill of Slippery Rock; two sons, Richard A. Halfhill Jr. and his wife, Lori, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Timothy Arthur Halfhill of Tehachapi, Calif.; and a grandson, Richard J. Halfhill of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William and Robert.

HALFHILL — A memorial service for Nancy Marie Halfhill, who passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, will be held later. Arrangements are entrusted to the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, PA 16057
