Darla Tack

Darla G. Tack, 70, of Butler passed away Friday at her son’s home in Benton, Ky., after an extended illness.

Darla was born in Knox, Pa., Jan. 21, 1943, to the late William A. and Virginia (Beels) Wile.

Darla was a homemaker while her children were growing up and later enjoyed working at the Marmon-Keystone Corp. in Butler.

She loved spending time with her sisters, her children and grandchildren. Her interests included flower gardening, baking and cooking for others, shopping, listening to “her music” and cheering her grandchildren on in their various activities.

She was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and served on several boards there in addition to working in the nursery.

Darla was married to her beloved late husband, John A. (Jack) Tack, on June 17, 1960. He preceded her in death in 1987.

She is survived by her two sons and her daughter, Randy and his wife, Patty, (Green) Tack of Sugar Grove, Pa., Dianne (Tack) and her husband, the Rev. Mark, Schuring of Marion, Ohio, and Dr. Bradley and his wife, Dr. Lisa (Toon), Tack of Benton, Ky.

Darla was very proud of all of her grandchildren including 2nd Lt. John and his wife, Doven (Schwanke) Tack, Matt Tack, Bethany (Schuring) and her husband, Doug Nichols, and their son, Landen, David Schuring, and Travis and McKenzie Tack.

She is also survived by her sisters, Jackie (Wile) Bradrick and Joyce (Wile) Brandon and her husband, Ron. Her family also includes numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

TACK — Friends of Darla G. Tack, who died Friday, April 5, 2013, will be received at the Thompson- Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Alden Towberman of St. Mark's officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lourdes Hospice, 2855 Jackson St., Suite 5, Paducah, KY 42003.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
