Cincinnati team wins Series at Pullman
Cincinnati-Clermont claimed the USCAA Small College World Series championship Thursday night at Pullman Park, defeating host Penn State-Greater Allegheny, 6-3.
The win spoiled a furious comeback by PSU-GA (35-17), which defeated The Apprentice School 9-3, then knocked off Cincinnati-Clermont, 8-7, in 10 innings earlier in the day.
PSU-GA won six consecutive games after dropping its opener in the double-elimination tournament and played eight games in four days.
Cincinnati-Clermont (28-8-1) was the No. 3 seed in the 10-team competition that featured 19 games.
