USCAA World Series ends today in Butler

Tournament host and fifth-seeded Penn State University-Greater Allegheny staved off elimination again Wednesday in the USCAA Small College World Series at Pullman Park.

PSU-GA (33-16) has won four straight games since dropping its opener in the double-elimination tourney. The team eliminated Lindenwood (Ill.) 6-3 and Selma by a 10-4 count Wednesday.

Selma bounced Penn College, 5-4, earlier in the day. No. 3 seed Cincinnati-Clermont (27-7-1) reached today’s 2:30 p.m. title game by defeating top-seeded The Apprentice School, 6-0.

The Apprentice School (34-9) was scheduled to face PSU-GA at 11 a.m. today. The winner would have to defeat Cincinnati-Clermont twice today to win the championship.
