Norma M. 'Snooks' Double Nickle

Norma M. “Snooks” Double Nickle, 87, of Harmony died Friday evening at the Chicora Medical Center.

She was born April 16, 1925, in Renfrew, the daughter of the late Troy and Vera Henry Double.

Norma attended the St. John's Reformed Church, Meridian.

She had worked as a sales clerk at the Ben Franklin store in Zelienople for 20 years. She also was the secretary for her husband's trucking company in Harmony.

She is survived by one daughter, Rita Getsay of Butler; two sisters, Mona Ford and Nancy Lumley; two brothers, Dean Double and Reid Double; six grandchildren, Debra Deemer and Fritz Nickle of Harmony, Teri Getsay and Dayna Spithaler of Butler, Shane Getsay of Evans City and Devin Nickle of Beaver Falls; six great-grandchildren, Jeff Jr., Stephanie, Destiney, Clint, Brittnie and Travis; and two great-great-grandsons, Karter and Kyler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer W. “Fritz” Nickle, who passed away Dec. 31, 1988; her son, Fred; daughter-in-law, Sheila Nickle; two sisters; and three brothers.

NICKLE — Friends of Norma M. Double Nickle, who died Friday, April 5, 2013, will be received at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
