Boneta Barkley Warner, 87, of Middle Lancaster passed away Wednesday while under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 28, 1925, in Lancaster Township and was the daughter of the late Ralph Oliver and Nettie (Rice) Barkley.

She was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church and served as the organist there for 27 years. Bea was always very active in church and community affairs such as the Lancaster-Jackson Blood Bank, the election board and most recently the Lancaster Township Historical Group.

She was known for her musical gift and provided music lessons to many people out of her own home and played music for many dances in the area.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Kristophel and her husband, Bill, of Harmony and Marjorie Kopec and her husband, Dennis, of Brooksville, Fla.; and her son, Dale Warner and his wife, Judie, of Harmony. She was the proud grandmother of Marjorie and Matthew Kristophel, Michael, Michelle and Marla Warner; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clair E. Warner, who passed away Oct. 21, 2006, and two brothers, Robert O. and Donald R. Barkley.

WARNER — The family of Boneta Barkley Warner, who passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Barbara Love officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, PA 16037 or to the Lancaster Township Historical Group.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Bea's family at www.boylanfuneralhome.com.
