Carl Allen Shaw, 18, a member of Boy Scout Troop 58 of Cooperstown, passed his Eagle Board of Review, earning the highest scouting award attainable on Nov. 28.
He is the son of Louis and Valerie Shoemaker Shaw of Sarver.
For his Eagle project last fall, he repaired and added an extension to a large planter box at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Carl received a donation from Penn United Technologies and a discount on materials from H.P. Starr to fund his project.
During his 12 years in scouting, Carl has been a senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, quartermaster, scribe and troop guide. He received 32 merit badges, the religious knot and certifications in life guarding and board sailing. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow.
Carl is member of Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church. The Knoch High School senior plans to study plastics engineering at Penn State Erie, the Behrend campus.

Garrett Jones, 17, of Franklin Township earned his Eagle Scout rank with Troop 33, Prospect, in October 2011. The Court of Honor was held April 14.His Eagle project was restoring the Synder Cemetery in Moraine State Park. The project included cleaning brush away from the cemetery, repairing the gate, leveling and repairing the headstones, installing a gravel pathway and having a memorial stone made.Garrett, valedictorian of the Slippery Rock High School Class of 2013, plans to attend Slippery Rock University and major in mathematics and secondary education.<BR></BR><BR></BR><BR></BR>
His brother, Josh Jones, 15, of Franklin Township earned his Eagle Scout with Troop 33, Prospect, in August, and also was recognized at the Court of Honor April 14.His Eagle Scout project was landscaping the Unionville Fire Hall, which included removing old shrubs and planting new shrubs around the fire hall and sign.Josh is a sophomore at Slippery Rock High School.Josh and Garrett are the sons of Todd and Sue Jones of Franklin Township.
